Campania’s wear layer is constructed from 4-millimeter solid European Oak hardwood and its core is comprised of two to nine-layer plywood. European Oak flooring is one of the most sought after hardwood choices in the US. All of these layers combined to result in a 5/8″(15mm) total plank thickness and each plank measuring to 7-1/2” in width.

Each box of Campania contains 30.3 square feet of engineered hardwood. Wire bristles are used to remove the softer grain within the wood, which accentuates the harder grain and creates a beautifully textured surface with added character. Our flooring is constructed from layers of plywood, topped by a solid European Oak veneer.

      Hello Vanessa,

This floor has a tongue & groove installation method, it doesn’t technically click together but it does snap into place.

Yes, this floor can be installed with a floating method, please view the instructions below:

When choosing the floating method for engineered wood, it is critical that the subfloor is flat to within 3/16” per 10’ radius. ADM Flooring Inc. will not honor warranty claims for products damaged due to plank movement or flexing due to an uneven floor. For floating installation, a 6mil., age-resistant polyethylene plastic sheet is required as a moisture barrier. Lap up walls 4”. It is also required that a 15lb. asphalt-saturated felt (rag paper) be used as an underlayment above
the moisture barrier to reduce sound. You can also use a 2 in 1 product that incorporates both a moisture barrier and sound barrier in ONE sheet, e.g. Volara foam ¼” or Floor Muffler products.

Follow underlayment manufacturer’s instructions. Decide which direction the flooring will run. Install cushioning underlayment running same lengthwise direction that you plan to install the flooring. Starting from left to right across the floor, begin by snapping a chalk line the width of the plank (e.g. 9 ½”) plus the ½” expansion space, off the starting wall. Nail a series of holding boards (i.e. 1” x 4” lengths of wood) along the chalk line, this will help keep the first rows
straight and firmly in place. Lay the first plank and align with chalk line, up against the holding boards with groove side facing the wall. Take second plank and apply a tongue and groove wood adhesive i.e. ADM’s urethane adhesives (FA-5 and FA-25) made for flooring (follow adhesive manufacturer’s instructions) to the groove on boards end, and join to first plank. Continue same steps until first row is completed. When reaching the end of the first row, cut the last board to fit; use spacing wedges to maintain a ½” expansion space between wall and end of plank. Make sure all end joints are tight and square. Remember to clean adhesive as you work. Begin the second row by cutting board – if necessary – to ensure a staggered end joint of approximately 16”
between end joints of adjacent planks.

      Thank You

  2. Question

The description says two to nine-layer plywood, and the sample came with what looks like two. Do boxes contain random amounts of layering or … How does that work? I didn’t see any options to specify. Its important we have more than two layers and all the other samples happened to have more than this one did so wanted to check.

      Hello Kassandra,

As you noticed, we offer different floors that have different cores depending on the wood being used, etc.
Most of our lacquered options have ‘layers’ in their core, meaning if you were to look at a sample, you would see the 3-4mm veneer, and beneath you will see the core of either 2 plies or 5-6 ply depending on the material.

One isn’t necessarily better than the other, they are just manufactured differently.

      Thank You
      Fernando ADM Flooring Design
